I want to get a Sony reader digital book. I would like to know if you like it for the people who has this device.
It's okay, I'd go with the Amazon Kindle though. I've had both, and would say I got more out of the Kindle.
NY1 report on the Sony e-book Reader
If I connect a Sony Book Reader to an iMac via a USB cable, will the Reader show up as an icon on the desktop? Then, if I have an existing Word document saved as a txt or rtf file, can I simply drag it onto the icon and then have it readable in the Reader? If not, can I insert a memory card into the Reader and then drag the Word document into that?
I see that sony has not listed these gadgets in their India site. Where can I get a E-book reader? And how much does one cost me?
Sony has limited the countries in which it will sell the PRS series ebook readers. Fortunately, there are other companies that make ebook readers.
I've found the MobileRead website very helpful.

I just learned that i am getting the Kindle from my husband for christmas.(so excited) Anyway i was looking at the add for target and came across the digital reader from sony. Does anyone know what the difference is??? If so which one is better then??? thanks( although i am keeping the Kindle -its from my husband.)
In addition to the advantages mentioned by the other posters, the Kindle has on more major one - the selection available. Amazon currently offers about 185,000 titles in Kindle format, and they're adding more all the time. The last time I checked, the Sony only had about 20,000 titles available. With that much selection available, you can pretty much guarantee always having something to read that you will enjoy.
I live in Australia and would love one of these readers. Does anyone know where i can buy it from overseas that will ship to Australia costing in total less than 500 aud? Thanks
Thanks however I have tried to buy through amazon but they won't ship the item to Australia.

Software Will Be the E-Reader's Kingmaker PC Magazine
.But the screen is only one part of what it will take
to make a successful market here. I'm convinced that, as in most cases
these days, it's the software that will drive the hardware and
determine the eventual winners and losers in this market.
That's where the Sony Reader and Amazon Kindle have had such a big lead
over all their competitiors to date. The E-ink technology had been out
for a while, but it took Sony to make the device commercial, and Amazon to wirelessly link the device with its online store; and that
combination helped make this a real market. The Kindle had the initial
advantage of a much bigger store, but almost every e-reader you see has
access to an online store of some sort.
Clearly, the store is still important. Amazon is pushing its own, as
are Barnes and Noble (with the Nook) and Sony.Nearly all the
Android-based devices have access to Google Books (typically for older,
public domain titles titles), but several have content partnerships
with Barnes
