Electronic bookreaders

I see that sony has not listed these gadgets in their India site. Where can I get a E-book reader? And how much does one cost me?

Sony has limited the countries in which it will sell the PRS series ebook readers. Fortunately, there are other companies that make ebook readers.

I've found the MobileRead website very helpful.

NY1 report on the Sony e-book Reader

It's pretty simple.

1) First you have to have the Connect software loaded onto your computer. (You should have it already on loaded in order to purchase books or to put books onto your reader.) Make sure that your ebook is plugged into the computer via the cord that came with the reader. If it doesn't fit, then you can easily purchase one from any Staples store. (That's what I had to do.)

2) On your left hand column there should be a list of things that you can go to. (Library, download/uploaded books, the ebook store, your e-reader, ect) Click on the e-reader.

3) You should now see a list of books. Right click on the one that you want to delete. A list of options should pop up. Select delete.

There is also a help menu available at the top if you need it, as well as at the sony website.

I am looing to find an e-book reader such as a palm Pilot or SONY e-book reader because I want to download some e-books into a portable hand help device (so I can read on the go-plus e-books are cheaper than traditional books). I am just wondering if the ipod has this function and which type should I have to get Nano or the video ipod.

The Ipod has the ability to read notes. Or you probably install Ipod Linux to use e-books

I want some kind of a device which can help me read e books. So i thought of buying an e book reader and then i thought y not an i phone then you could read e books and plus have lot more functions for a similar price.......and now i need your opinion.........plzzzzzzzzz help me...iphone or e book reader???? the disadvantages of both and the advantages of 'em. and of course if its an ebook reader wots da best e book reader?kindler or sony e book reader??

well, if you love books a lot, than an ebook reader should be the best option. The apps like 'stanza' are very good on the iphone. Clasics like war and paece are available, and you can change the size of the text to your convenience. However,in my case, I tend to flick the imaginary page about every 10 to 20 seconds, because there are'nt that many words on a single page. It's not the best, but it's quite good. I would stick with the iphone coz i like havin the other apps and music (of course).
instead of goin for a plain e-book reader, you should rather go for a netbook. They're relatively new and every company is launching there own version of a cheap portable laptop. You can even get one of them on contract ...(http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/231366/dell-inspiron-mini-9.html) or this one could be another choice ...(http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/215688/advent-4211.html).They are not high-end laptops and there are many other ones by companies, mainly such as 'asus' and 'eee', which have made the most famous netbooks. They Cost around £250, they even start from £100. They are quite sturdy and good.
