Electronic bookreaders

Hi,
I am looking for an e reader. I have seen the Sony e Reader PRS 505, but its a little expensive. Does anyone know of any cheaper but good alternatives?

Just a simple video about my brand new PRS-505 :)

I understand that Sony just sales that kind of product in US market. So I'd like to know how can I get it in Vietnam or nearer countries such as Singapore, Thailand or Malaysia.

If it's available in Vietnam, you will probably find it at the following locations:

Ho Chi Minh City: Nguyen King - A huge electronics store about 2 blocks East of Ben Thanh Market.

Hanoi: The Sony Store in the Trang Tieng Street mall. First floor. Near the escalators.

If you're able to easily travel in and out of Vietnam, you will want to go to Hong Kong for your electronics. Hong Kong is closer to Hanoi than Ho Chi Minh City.

I live in Australia and would love one of these readers. Does anyone know where i can buy it from overseas that will ship to Australia costing in total less than 500 aud? Thanks

If I connect a Sony Book Reader to an iMac via a USB cable, will the Reader show up as an icon on the desktop? Then, if I have an existing Word document saved as a txt or rtf file, can I simply drag it onto the icon and then have it readable in the Reader? If not, can I insert a memory card into the Reader and then drag the Word document into that?

I'm going to buy one. But i have some question about it, I really ipriciate it if u answer me.
First of all about PDF files or word files that r not in english and in Unicode (UTF-8) format. will this reader read them or not? ( I mean Persian or Arabic fonts)
another question is about the hack. what do u mean hacking this product? I mean what you can do more after doing this? I just want to copy some pdf and text and jpg files in it and reading them in portal, can I?

You can have any font.

Basically three .ttf files are replaced with the new. If you put .ttf files with Arabic/Persian/Japanese then you will get the fonts that you need.

You could search for the same information on www.mobileread.com

The drawback as of today - if flash programming fails the gadget is dead and nobody (other than Sony engineers) knows how to revive the gadget.
