I've tried books like Electronics for dummies, but I often find myself rereading the chapters. And I've also tried Practical Electronics For inventors, but it seems to be constant information, and no little projects between to give me a better understanding. Any suggestions?
Take a look at the sites on these links. One or two of the forum sites seem to be dead in the water now, but the others are active.

I mean c'mon!, that's why it's there. For you to read and to LEARN how to operate your new equipment. Stop bothering the technically inclined and READ! That's what we do. It works.
Your giving people more credit then they deserve, most people even though they can read, they are unable to comprehend. To understand a manual goes way beyond reading it, so they don't bother...
Those American sites are excellent, but I've noticed that they use different model numbers for consumer electronics in different countries, so anything I read about on a US site is probably called something else here in New Zealand.
Yahoo shopping.
I have a broken Ipod and broken camera that are just sitting in a draw collecting dust, I've read that you should throw electronics in the bin because of the metal parts so is there anywhere online I can recycle them for some extra cash?
Here are some websites in the UK:

Have you ever read the legal stuff on the tags of electronics? They are required by law to be shielded against interference. Right? What about us? How are we shielded?
Well, it actually say's the device must not cause harmful interference to licensed equipment, and if you are getting interference from licensed equipment you are out of luck for the most part, most of the time this stuff is very badly designed and must accept the interference unless you know how to filter it out.. You can go to www.fcc.gov and look around for type acceptance on consumer electronics if you want, that stuff has pretty much been the same for years..
About us.. no we are not normally shielded in any way..

A Deluge of Devices for Reading and Surfing New York Times
Those products are part of a new wave of slender touch-screen tablets and electronic reading devices that dozens of companies, both well known and unknown, brought to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.
Some of these gadgets allow people to read for long periods of time without eye strain and without killing the batteries. Others focus on allowing their owners to surf the Web, watch video and play casual games without being tethered to a bulky laptop and its traditional keyboard.
“There are a billion and a half Internet users on the planet today, and a lot of them are primarily using it for entertainment and social networking,” said Glen Burchers, director of global consumer segment marketing at Freescale, a chip company hoping to power the new tablets. “The PC does a good job on a lot of things, but it’s just not the ideal device for surfing the Internet or reading.”
Tablets, of course, have been around for years. In 2001, Bill Gates erroneously predicted at an industry trade show that they would be the most popular form of PC sold in America within five years.
