The staff at Brighthand.com take a look at the Amazon Kindle 2, Amazon's new e-ink based e-reader.

Im just wondering because i'm considering purchasing one!!

There is no reason why it will not work in the UK. Amazon has just announced that Kindle 2 will be launched internationally at some, unannounced point.

The new Kindle 2.0 is very tempting and Amazon doesn't look set to release it overseas anytime soon.

Has anyone else attempted using Kindle (first gen/second gen) in Australia? I would like to know what are some of the problems encountered and if it's worth the trouble.

Im thinking about buying the Kindle 2 from Amazon, and I was wondering what everyone has to say about it. I don't want to spend 400 dollars on something that im not going to enjoy. Any and all thoughts will be welcome.

I've made my pre-order and I can't wait for it. I love the idea to carry lots of books and magazines anywhere without actually bringing the heavy books along with me. And I like the text-to-speech function, which means I can have my hand holding other things and eyes looking around but still reading (listening) the books. What a wonderful idea!

I was thinking of asking my husband to get one for me for my birthday in May. How do you like it? Is it really easy to read from? Can you get most books? How much money do you save on books?

I own one and I like it very much. It is lightweight and trendy looking, and I like to bring it everywhere. I like the text to speech function very much too, it is wonderful that I can "read" books with my eyes and hands free up for other things.

As you should know, Kindle books are cheaper than actual books. There has been some calculation coming out that if you purchased 70 Kindle books, the money saved on books can cover the cost of the actual Kindle reader already.
